Share prices were higher in Singapore, Manila, Wellington and Bombay.
Markets closed lower in Seoul, Bangkok and Sydney.
Financial markets in Hong Kong, Malaysia and Taiwan were closed for the Lunar New Year holiday. They will resume trading Monday.
