European share prices are mixed in midday trading Thursday.
London's Financial Times index is down five points at 4,932.
The CAC-40 in Paris is six points higher at 4,025, and the DAX index in Frankfurt is down about half a point at 4,309.
The S & P futures contract is up just under one point. Tokyo's Nikkei index lost 98 points to finish at 11,776.
Hong Kong's Hang Seng index lost 15 points to end at 13,818.
The price of gold in London is 442 dollars, 65 cents an ounce, up 20 cents from late Wednesday.
The dollar in London is higher against other major currencies.
