Asian stock markets closed mostly higher Thursday.
Tokyo's Nikkei index gained 103 points to finish at 11,669. On Wednesday the average lost 34 points.
Hong Kong's Hang Seng index gained 91 points to end at 13,517. The Hang Seng gained 14 points on Wednesday.
In the region's other big market, Singapore, the Straits Times index rose 18 points to close at 2,141.
Elsewhere, share prices were higher in Bangkok, Bombay, Jakarta, Manila, Seoul, Shanghai, Sydney and Taipei. Markets ere lower in Kuala Lumpur and Wellington.
In late afternoon Tokyo currency trading, the dollar was selling at 106.96 yen, down 0.31 yen from the same time Wednesday.
In Hong Kong, the price of gold rose 60 cents to close at 427 dollars, 25 cents an ounce.
