Gunmen in Iraq have killed a female member of Iraq's parliament, in the first assassination of a member of the interim National Assembly elected in January.
Police say unknown assailants shot the legislator dead outside her Baghdad home today-Wednesday.
Meanwhile, Shi'ite officials say forming a new cabinet has been further delayed, as politicians challenged some of the names on Prime Minister-Designate Ibrahim al-Jaafari's proposed cabinet list.
The three-member presidential council must approve the list before it goes to the 275-member National Assembly for a vote of approval.
And in a separate development, Romania has asked the kidnappers of three Romanian journalists in Iraq for more time. The kidnappers, who have held the three since March 28th, have threatened to execute them today-Wednesday unless Romania withdraws from Iraq.
