Asian stock markets closed mostly higher today - Wednesday.
Tokyo's NIkkei index gained 64 points to finish at 11,281. On Tuesday the index lost 53 points.
Hong Kong's Hang Seng index rose 61 points to end at 13,899. The Hang Seng lost 26 points on Tuesday.
In the region's other big market, Singapore, the Straits Times index lost nine points to close at 2,198.
Elsewhere, share prices were higher in Bangkok, Bombay, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, Seoul, Shanghai, Sydney, Taipei and Wellington. The Market was lower in Manila.
In late afternoon Tokyo currency trading, the dollar was selling at 106.74 yen, down 0.05 yen from the same time Tuesday.
In Hong Kong, the price of gold fell one dollar and 90 cents to close at 425 dollars and five cents an ounce.
