U.S. military officials say 20 people have been killed in a series of explosions targeting Iraqi and American forces in Baghdad today-Friday.
Officials say at least three American soldiers were injured, but did not provide details on the five separate attacks.
Earlier, Iraqi police said a car bomber slammed into an Iraqi army unit in northern Baghdad, killing eight people in one attack.
Meantime, U.S. military officials reported two American soldiers died Thursday in an explosion near the Jordanian border.
Also, Al-Qaida in Iraq claimed responsibility for a planned attack Thursday near the heavily-armed Green Zone in Baghdad.
Iraqi troops arrested one would-be suicide bomber outside the site, while another attacker died when the explosive jacket he was wearing detonated.
