Asian stock markets closed mixed on Tuesday.
Tokyo's Nikkei index gained six points to finish at 11,765. The Japanese markets were closed for a holiday Monday. On Friday the Nikkei index lost six points.
Hong Kong's Hang Seng index rose one point to end at 14,568. The Hang Seng gained 63 points to close at a four year high on Monday.
In the region's other big market, Singapore, the Straits Times index rose 45 points to close at a five year high of 2,293.
Elsewhere, share prices were higher in Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, Seoul, Shanghai, Taipei and Wellington. Markets were lower in Bombay, Bangkok, Manila, and Sydney
In late afternoon Tokyo currency trading, the dollar was selling at 112.60 yen, up 0.80 yen from the same time Friday.
In Hong Kong, the price of gold fell $1.30 to close at $420.35 an ounce.
