Burma's military government has released 53 Thais from the notorious Insein prison in Rangoon and allowed them to leave the country.
The Thai foreign ministry says most of the prisoners had been serving five to 10 year sentences for immigration offenses.
The Thais arrived in Bangkok Thursday morning on a Thai Airways flight.
