Indonesian President Says Bali Blasts Spoil Country's Reputation

Indonesia's president says Saturday's deadly bombings on Bali have helped spoil Indonesia's reputation in the eyes of the world.

In a speech to mark the 60th anniversary of the Indonesian Armed Forces, President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono Wednesday also called on the military to stamp out terrorism in the world's most populous Muslim nation.

Authorities have questioned 39 people in connection with the suicide bombings that killed 22 people at beach cafes.

However, no arrests have been made, despite a massive manhunt and widely publicized photos of the three suspected bombers' faces.

Indonesian police say they suspect leaders of the al-Qaida-linked Jemaah Islamiyah are behind the attacks. The militant group's Malaysian leaders, Azahari bin Husin and Noordin M. Top, are also suspected in the 2002 attacks in Bali and other bombings.

Information for this report is provided by AP, AFP and Reuters.
