Iran says it is no longer considering a Russian proposal aimed at ending the standoff over Tehran's controversial nuclear program.
Moscow had proposed enriching Iran's uranium in Russia to allay international concerns Tehran could use the process to make atomic weapons.
But at a news conference today, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Hamid Reza Asefi said the plan will no longer be considered now that the nuclear case is being handled by the UN Security Council.
The International Atomic Energy Agency sent its report on Iran's nuclear activities to the Security Council Wednesday, saying it could not determine if Tehran was enriching uranium for military purposes.
The United States accuses Iran of seeking a nuclear weapon. Iran has repeatedly denied the charge, saying its nuclear program is for peaceful purposes.
