Burma To Import US $250 Million Worth Of Fuel From Malaysian State Oil - 2004-06-03

Burma reportedly plans to import 250 million dollars worth of fuel from Malaysia this year.

The weekly 7-Day News quotes the deputy director of Burma's energy ministry, Thein Lwin, as saying Malaysia's state-owned Petronas oil company will be the sole supplier of the gasoline and diesel fuel.

The report said Burma needs the imports to meet domestic demand, which has more than doubled over a ten-year period.
