At least 11 people were killed and six hurt in fresh clashes in Ramadi. There were also attacks in Baquba and Samarra, with few injuries reported.

A U.S. Marine was also killed (Wednesday) in fighting in the area.

At an Iraqi National Guard checkpoint south of Baghdad, two Iraqis were killed and 10 wounded when a car bomb exploded.

In the northern town of Tal Afar, the U.S. military says more than 3,000 residents have returned home, since fighting ended Tuesday to eliminate foreign fighters from the town.

Also today, Iraqi troops found three decapitated bodies that appeared to be Arabs on a roadside north of the capital.
