The United Nations children's fund says 24 young Burmese journalists have completed a UNICEF-sponsored course on reporting and media ethics.
The UN agency says participants in the program drafted a comprehensive code of journalistic ethics, including guidelines for news coverage involving children.
The Burmese journalists, most of whom were in their 20s or younger, completed two weeks of training Friday in Rangoon. UNICEF's representative in Rangoon Carroll Long says the journalists had an opportunity to learn more about children's rights
and about ethics, and how they as journalists can give a greater voice to children and young people in their work.
