Germany says it has donated $826,000 to the United Nations World Food Program for tsunami relief operations in Burma.
A statement released Thursday by the German embassy in Rangoon says the money will provide basic food assistance for six months to about 15,000 people in Ayeyawaddy and Tanintheri Divisions.
The contribution is part of a larger pledge by the German government for the countries hardest hit by the December 26th tsunami.
