European share prices are higher in midday trading Thursday.
London's Financial Times index is up seven points at 4,918. The CAC-40 in Paris is 17 points higher at 4,049, and the DAX index in Frankfurt is up six points at 4,323.
The S&P futures contract is up just over three points (3.2) indicating a slightly higher opening today.
Tokyo's Nikkei index gained seven points to finish at 11,746. Hong Kong's Hang Seng index lost seven points to end at 13,597.
The price of gold in London is 424 dollars, 90 cents an ounce, down one dollar, 20 cents from late Wednesday. The dollar in London is higher against other major currencies.
