Most Asian stock markets closed higher Friday, with many closed for the Easter holiday.
Tokyo's Nikkei index rose slightly (15 points), to close at 11,761. The Nikkei also gained slightly on Thursday.
Elsewhere, share prices were higher in Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Seoul and Taipei. Markets in Shanghai closed lower.
The stock markets in Hong Kong, Bombay, Jakarta, Manila, Singapore, Sydney and Wellington were closed for Easter holiday observances.
