Bangladesh and Burma have exchanged a total of 192 prisoners -- mostly detained for petty crimes in both countries.
The exchange took place at the Bangladeshi border town of Teknaf, where commanders of border guards from the two countries met Wednesday.
Bangladeshi officials said they released 172 Burmese prisoners in exchange for 20 Bangladeshi nationals.
The prisoner exchange follows Burmese Foreign Minister Nyan Win's visit to Bangladesh last month.
