Asian stock markets closed mostly higher today-Thursday.
Tokyo's Nikkei index gained three points to close at 11,009. On Wednesday the index dropped 30 points.
Hong Kong's Hang Seng index gained 70 points to end at 13,909. The Hang Seng lost 20 points on Wednesay.
In the region's other big market, Singapore, the Straits Times index fell five points to close at 2,140.
Elsewhere, share prices were higher in Bombay, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, Manila, Shanghai, Taipei and Wellington. Markets were lower in Bangkok, Seoul and Sydney.
In late afternoon Tokyo currency trading, the dollar was selling at 105.87 yen, down 0.31 yen from the same time Monday.
In Hong Kong, the price of gold fell one dollar, 80 cents to close at 432 dollars, 45 cents an ounce.
