Asian stock markets closed mostly higher Thursday.
Japanese financial markets were closed Thursday for a national holiday. Trading will resume on Friday.
Hong Kong's Hang Seng index rose 117 points to end at 14,061. The Hang Seng gained 51 points on Wednesday.
In the region's other big market, Singapore, the Straits Times index lost one point to close at 2,148.
Elsewhere, share prices were higher in Bombay, Kuala Lumpur, Manila and Sydney.
The market was down in Wellington. The stock
markets in Bangkok, Jakarta, Seoul and Shanghai were closed for public holidays. In Hong Kong, the price of gold gained two dollars, 40 cents to close at $431.55 cents an ounce.
