China's official news agency says the governor of China's Yunnan province has arrived in Burma for a visit focused on strengthening trade and economic relations.
Xinhua reports that trade between the southwestern province and its neighbor, Burma, has developed rapidly in recent years.
The report says Governor Xu Rongkai and his delegation are visiting Rangoon at the invitation of the city's mayor.
The Chinese delegation will also call on officials from Burma's military government, including the ministers of agriculture, irrigation, and energy. Xinhua says the Chinese officials will also tour the city of Mandalay and the ancient city of Bagan.
