Asian stock markets closed mostly higher today-Tuesday.
Tokyo's Nikkei index lost 25 points to finish at 11,134. On Monday the index gained 121 points.
Hong Kong's Hang Seng index gained 20 points to end at 13,719. The Hang Seng lost 19 points on Monday.
In the region's other big market, Singapore, the Straits Times index gained one point to close at 2,175.
Elsewhere, share prices were higher in Bombay, Kuala Lumpur, Seoul, Shanghai, Sydney and Taipei. Markets were lower im Bangkok, Manila and Wellington. The market in Jakarta was closed for a holiday.
In late afternoon Tokyo currency trading, the dollar was selling at 107.46 yen, down 0.52 yen from the same time Monday.
In Hong Kong, the price of gold rose 80 cents to close at 418 dollars, 35 cents an ounce.
