Asian stock markets closed mostly lower today-Wednesday.
Tokyo's Nikkei index lost one percent-119 points to finish at 11,014. On Tuesday the index fell 25 points.
Hong Kong's Hang Seng index lost more than one percent-157 points to end at 13,562. The Hang Seng rose 20 points on Tuesday.
In the region's other big market, Singapore, the Straits Times index lost 15 points to close at 2,160.
Elsewhere, share prices were higher in Bombay, Jakarta and Wellington. Markets were lower in Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Manila, Seoul, Shanghai, Singapore, Sydney and Taipei.
In late afternoon Tokyo currency trading, the dollar was selling at 107.45 yen, down 0.01 yen from the same time Tuesday.
In Hong Kong, the price of gold fell 20 cents to close at 418 dollars, 55 cents an ounce.
