Asian stock markets closed mostly higher today-Thursday.
Tokyo's Nikkei index lost 50 points to finish at 11,280. On Wednesday the market gained 53 points.
Hong Kong's Hang Seng index fell 58 points to end at 13,815.
In the region's other big market, Singapore, the Straits Times index rose 15 points to close at 2,192.
Elsewhere, share prices were higher in Jakarta, Sydney, Bangkok, Seoul, Taipei, Wellington, Manila and Kuala Lumpur. Markets were lower in Shanghai.
In late afternoon Tokyo currency trading, the dollar was selling at 108.28 yen, down .03 yen.
In Hong Kong, the price of gold rose 60 cents an ounce to close at 417 dollars and 55 cents an ounce.
