Asian stock markets closed mixed today-Wednesday.
Tokyo's Nikkei index gained 53 points, or half a percent, to finish at 11,330. The average gained one-tenth of a percent-10 points on Tuesday.
Hong Kong's Hang Seng index gained four-tenths of one percent-six points to end at 13,873. The Hang Seng rose two-tenths of a percent-22 points on Monday.
In the region's other big market, Singapore, the Straits Times index rose 15 points seven-tenths of a percent to close at 2,176.
Elsewhere, share prices were higher in Kuala Lumpur, Manila and Sydney. Markets were lower in Seoul, Shanghai, Taipei and Wellington.
Bangkok's numbers were unchanged from Tuesday.
In late afternoon Tokyo currency trading, the dollar was selling at 108.31 yen, up .14 yen from the same time Tuesday.
In Hong Kong, the price of gold fell 60 cents to close at $416.95 an ounce.
