British Prime Minister Tony Blair will receive a letter from a delegation of high profile British women today-Friday, calling on him to secure the release of Burmese opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi.
The delegation, headed by European Parliament Minister Glenys Kinnock, includes actress Prunella Scales and comedian Jo Brand.
The visit is part of a worldwide effort by the Burma Campaign UK and other rights groups to coincide with Aung San Suu Kyi's 60th birthday on June 19th.
Brand said Aung San Suu Kyi is a brave and determined woman who was taking on one of the most brutal dictatorships in the world.
Aung San Suu Kyi has spent nearly 10 years in detention since 1989.
