President Bush is traveling to Europe today -Tuesday where he will attend the Group of Eight summit in Scotland.
In recent comments leading up to the summit of the world's industrialized nations, Mr. Bush said the United States would drop subsidies to American farmers -- if the European Union did the same in Europe.
He says ending those subsidies would allow African countries to compete and reduce their need for international aid.
Aid to Africa will be a main topic of this year's G-8 summit, which gets under way Wednesday.
Before arriving in Scotland for the summit, Mr. Bush will visit Denmark. Danish authorities have mounted a massive security campaign in anticipation of protests against the visit.
Early today-Tuesday, Danish police and bomb experts intercepted at least two suspicious packages that arrived at the U.S. Embassy.
