U.S. First Lady Laura Bush has laid a wreath at a mass grave in Rwanda commemorating the victims of the country's 1994 genocide.
Mrs. Bush said today - Thursday the memorial is a tribute to those who died and a testimony to the courage of those who survived.
She was joined at the site by British First Lady Cherie Blair who said it was especially poignant for her to be in Rwanda while remembering those who died in the London bombings one week ago.
Earlier today-Thursday, Mrs. Bush visited an Islamic school in Tanzania's Indian Ocean archipelago of Zanzibar.
Throughout her tour of Africa this week, Mrs. Bush has highlighted President Bush's initiatives to fight AIDS and malaria.
