Chinese Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing is expected to meet with Burma's head of state and its prime minister during a short visit to the nation Thursday.
Asian news reports said Mr. Li will meet separately with Senior General Than Shwe and Prime Minister General Soe Win.
Mr. Li flew to Rangoon late Wednesday, unexpectedly leaving this week's security meeting of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations in Laos. Mr. Li said Burma is the only ASEAN member he has not visited.
