Some human rights activists are urging the Associations of Southeast Asian Nations to keep up the pressure on military-ruled Burma.
The Alternative ASEAN Network on Burma said Monday that last month's effort to persuade Burma's rulers to give up a chance to chair ASEAN shows that pressure tactics can work.

Her group made their point in a press release sent out to coincide with the 17th anniversary of a doomed pro-democracy uprising in Burma.
