Bangladesh is expected to send a delegation to Burma next month to discuss a road project linking the two nations.
The 133-kilometer road would go from Buthidaung in Burma to Ramu in Bangladesh.
News reports say a memorandum of understanding to build the highway was signed in April of last year.
One news account in the Economic Times says the two nations will finalize an agreement to begin construction. A second account on Mizzima News' website says Burma has expressed reservations about funding the project.
Analysts say the road could strengthen economic and trade ties in South and South-East Asia.
