Burma says it will raise the cost of all state-run newspapers by fivefold starting next month.
The announcement appeared in a notice in state newspapers Monday.
The notice said the change in price is to cover rising production costs for the papers. Some Burmese citizens have told Western reporters they plan to stop buying the papers when the price rises.
