UNICEF has announced that it will work with Burmese health officials in an attempt to immunize 15 million children against measles by 2006.
The UNICEF representative in Rangoon, Carroll Long, said measles kills more children around the world than any other vaccine-preventable disease.
UNICEF says it hopes the immunization program will reduce Burma's infant mortality rate by two thirds over the next 10 years.
