Suspected ethnic rebels opened fire on spectators at a soccer match in northwestern Burma, killing two people, including a 7-year-old boy.
The official media say two Chin insurgents fired on the crowd with small weaponry during an awards ceremony Saturday after a game at the Myoma sports ground in the town of Matupi.
Reports say the army is searching for the insurgents.
The official New Light of Myanmar newspaper described the two dead as boys aged seven and 17. Six others were reported hurt.
