Burma says it is on the alert for bird flu and will cooperate in tracking outbreaks of the disease.
Burmese Agriculture Minister Htay Oo says authorities have stepped up monitoring, but have found no cases in wild or domestic birds so far.
Mr. Htay says if they find bird flu, they will let the world know.
International experts fear that Burma will not be able to detect an outbreak of the deadly H5N1 virus because of a lack of funds or expertise.
