Burma's largest rebel group says Burmese troops are forcing hundreds of ethnic Karens from their villages.
The anti-government Karen National Union said today-Saturday that the military started raids earlier this month in villages in Taungoo district in central Burma. There has been no comment from Burma's military government.
The Karen National Union has been fighting for autonomy in eastern Burma for decades. It is the only major ethnic rebel group that has not signed a formal ceasefire with the Burmese government.
