Burmese residents say their access to the Google internet search engine has been banned by the government.
Reports Friday quoted Internet users as saying they have had no access to the search engine or the accompanying email service for about a week.
Those reports said other search engines such as Yahoo have also been blocked.
The India-based Mizzima news service, which specializes in news from Burma, quotes an official from Burma's only internet provider, who confirmed that Google is inaccessible. He declined to comment further.
