Amnesty International has marked the anniversary of the imprisonment of Burmese journalist U Win Tin, who has been in prison since July fourth of 1989.
U Win Tin is a member of the executive committee of the National League for Democracy - Burma's main opposition party. He is serving 20 years in prison.
Human rights groups say U Win Tin's health has been poor during his imprisonment and has been made worse by harsh conditions inside the prison. He is in his 70s.
