Thai military officials says unidentified Burmese troops fired on a Thai helicopter this week as it flew near the two countries' border.
Officials say the incident happened early Monday, over Thai territory in northern Mae Hong Son province. They say bullets struck the helicopter's rear section and it was forced to land. No injuries were reported.
The officials say the helicopter was returning to a military base near the border when it was fired upon. They say the incident is being investigated and a letter of protest has been sent to the Burmese government.
