Burma's state media say the personal physician of detained pro-democracy leader Aung San Suu Kyi has not visited her for more than two months because of political developments in the country.
The New Light of Myanmar said Friday that Doctor Tin Myo Win wrote a letter to authorities saying that he did not visit the Nobel Peace Laureate for several reasons.
Among those were the anniversary of Aung San Suu Kyi's National League of Democracy Party, and the arrest of five student leaders in September. He did not elaborate.
The doctor's last visit was on August 24th.
The pro-democracy leader has been held in house arrest for around ten of the last 17 years. She is generally not allowed outside and her doctor is one of her only connections to the outside world.
