The personal physician of Burma's detained pro-democracy leader Aung San Suu Kyi is reported to have visited her for the first time in almost three months.
News media quote sources close to the Nobel Laureate as saying that Doctor Tin Myo Win visited Aung Sang Suu Kyi in recent days, and that she was healthy.
The doctor's previous visit was August 24th.
The pro-democracy leader has been held under house arrest for about ten of the past 17 years. She is generally not allowed outside and her doctor is one of her only connections to the outside world.
UN envoy Ibrahim Gambari met last week with the detained leader. It was his second visit with Aung San Suu Kyi since May, when he became the first foreigner to meet with her in several years.
