Officials in Thailand say the country's interim Prime Minister, Surayud Chulanont, will visit Burma next week.
Mr. Surayud is to visit the country after attending the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit in Hanoi, Vietnam.
Details of his trip to Burma are not immediately available.
But, Thailand's Bangkok Post newspaper says he plans to urge Burma's military government to open its market to Thai products.
The report said that trade between the two nations has fallen since Burma tightened import and export regulations.
It quoted the Thai leader as saying that Burma is shutting its door to Thai goods in almost all categories.
