Police in Thailand say at least six bombs have exploded in the capital, Bangkok, as people were preparing for New Years celebrations. Authorities say two people were killed and 12 wounded.
Police say the two deaths occurred from a bomb that exploded in the city center, near the Victory Monument. Other explosions occurred near intersections and shopping centers.
The motive for the bombings is not immediately clear.
