Burma's opposition party says it is holding a political art sale today to raise money for political prisoners and their families.
More than 50 paintings with political themes will be sold at the show.
Burma's National League for Democracy, which is led by detained Nobel laureate Aung San Suu Kyi, organized the art sale. Aung San Suu Kyi is Burma's best known political prisoner. She has been under house arrest by the military government in
Rangoon for most of the past 17 years.
