Witnesses in Burma say police have arrested two prominent political activists, after the two held a press conference on the political situation in the country.
Police arrested Win Naing and Htin Kyaw Thursday, saying they conducted an unauthorized public briefing.
During the conference, the activists spoke about a lack of political freedom and poor living conditions in Burma.
Htin Kyaw had previously been arrested on two other occasions in connection with a protest in downtown Rangoon last month calling for better living conditions. He had just been released on Wednesday.
Burma has little tolerance for political dissent, and the military government currently holds at least 11-hundred political prisoners.
