Singaporean Foreign Minister George Yeo has met with his Burmese counterpart during a three-day visit to the military-ruled country.
Yeo held talks with U Nyan Win on Monday and the two discussed ways of enhancing bilateral cooperation through cultural exchanges.
An official at Singapore's embassy says Yeo was invited to visit by the Burmese government.
Yeo is also expected to meet members of the Singaporean community during a dinner reception at the island-state's embassy in Rangoon.
Today, Yeo is traveling to the military-ruled government's new capital of Naypyidaw where he is scheduled to meet with the Secretary of State Peace and Development Council Lieutenant General Thein Sein.
