Burmese state media say a tornado has destroyed a school building in the Ayeyarwaddy delta, killing two students and injuring two others.
The "New Light of Myanmar" newspaper reports today that a tornado ripped through Laputta township Saturday, destroying about 60 houses, school buildings and offices.
Over the past week, heavy rains and flooding have inundated houses and disrupted traffic across Burma. Thousands of people have been forced to leave their homes.
Official reports say the government is providing relief to flood victims across the country.
Burma's wet season begins in June. The rains challenge citizens of the impoverished country every year.
