Lawyers in Burma have argued for the reversal of a death sentence imposed on the son-in-law and grandsons of former Burmese dictator Ne Win.
The four men were arrested last March and convicted in September of planning a coup against the current military government. Aye Zaw Win and his sons, Aye Ne Win, Kyaw Ne Win and Zwe Ne Win were sentenced to death by hanging.
During a one-day appeal, the family's defense lawyers asked the Supreme Court to reverse the death sentence. The court may make a final decision in the coming weeks.
Executions are rare in Burma. Some analysts believe the defendants' sentences will be commuted to life in prison.
