Britain's foreign office minister has expressed deep concern over reports that Burma's military government is harassing supporters of pro-democracy opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi.
Mike O'Brien says he was appalled by reports from opposition members that the Burmese government encouraged residents not to meet Aung San Suu Kyi when she visited northwestern Rakhine state last month.
Mr. O'Brien also accused a government-backed group of distributing anti-Aung San Suu Kyi leaflets.
Mr. O'Brien also urged Burma's military government to enter into a serious dialogue with Aung San Suu Kyi's National League for Democracy party.
