The European Union has criticized Burma's military government for what the EU says is the country's lack of democracy and poor human rights record.
The criticism came during talks in Belgium between EU foreign ministers and their counterparts from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations.
EU officials said Burma told them it needed more time to make democratic reforms, and urged the European Union not to put pressure on Rangoon.
