In this week's U.S. Political Roundtable, presenters Khin Maung Htay and Zaw Win talked about the heated and emotional debate in both the House of Representatives and the Senate by U.S. lawmakers over the issue of funding for war costs in Iraq including funds requested by the Bush administration for homeland security.
House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi said, "As we support the men and women in uniform in Iraq, it's hard to understand how we can underfund the needs of our men and women in uniform on the front-line of homeland defense in America."
In the end, both the House and Senate will have to approve a final war funding bill which President Bush wants to sign no later than April 11, just before congress goes on spring recess.
